Amb. Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamiriya planted a memorial tree at the Moscow School of International Diplomacy
In a function inaugurating the beginning of the school year 2015-2016 at the Moscow School of International Diplomacy, the Embassy of Rwanda in the Russian Federation was invited, with other African Ambassadors, to participate in a traditional tree planting event that marks the official launch of every new school year. The tree planting event is a tradition of the school since its foundation by an Environmentalist lady who has been, since fifty years, striving to protect the environment as a pillar of development. The occasion was to tip students to the importance of environment protection worldwide. The presence of African Ambassadors showcased the vision of the school, which is that is to be a world class diplomacy school that is nursing young aspirants to be career diplomats.
Ambassador Mujawamariya, among other guests, was happy to be honored by the school to be part of the ceremony of tree planting where the tree she planted was “Republic of Rwanda” as a memory sign of the School to include Rwanda among other countries where the school may envisage to open programs offering diplomacy courses to young generation.
In her remarks, Ambassador Mujawamariya said that the Russian Federation enjoys very good relations with Africa and urged audience to visit Africa to witness what has been achieved so far. She called for the strengthening of the cooperation most especially in education. She praised the contribution made by the Russian Federation President to peace and security through environmental protection and promotion of people’s welfare.
