Moscow July 2nd, Rwanda’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr Jeanne d’Arc Mujawamariya, accompanied by the First Secretary Mr. Francis Karagire, presented Rwanda ‘s investment opportunities to the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).
The objective was to provide key information and data that would help Russian investors and business community to come and invest in Rwanda to contribute to the 25% targeted annual growth of the Foreign Direct Investments volume as projected by the Government of Rwanda new investment code.
Ambassador Mujawamariya unveiled Rwanda economic growth progression and business environment improvement as recognized by high level financial institutions including the World Bank Ding Business reports and many more others.
She highlighted the current investment priority areas that include energy, infrastructure, ICT and transportation and called upon Russian investors to tap into these investment opportunities.
The Vice President of the MCCI, Mr. Suren Vardanayan applauded Rwanda investment and business friendly climate and said that Russia is willing to expand its business partnership with Africa and praised the Rwanda Embassy’s good will in sharing its investment opportunities and business regulation climate and being open for future cooperation with MCCI.
He added that according to their research findings, Rwanda presents the best business climate within the region and this is the more reason Russian investors are likely to lead that direction. For that same reason, a team of the MCCI will visit Rwanda in October for fact finding.
He also said that given the beauty of the country, Rwanda would be the future destination of many Russian Tourists.
The meeting was initiated by friends of Rwanda, including Mr. Alexey Kuznetsov, the Head of a company that deals with supply of fertilizers and Mr Nikolai Bogdanov whose company deals with bakery industry equipment and machinery and Mr. Alexey Osharin whose company will organize the trip to Rwanda.
Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the largest business association in Moscow that brings together 3200 companies representing various segments and sectors of the City’s economy.
